How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a full-time Grants Manager based in Katherine, NT. 

This role is pivotal in maximising revenue for Council through available funding sources and grants and ensuring financial acquittals are achieved. 

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with CEO, Directors, and Managers to develop a strategic approach to the application, allocation, and management of grant funding. 
  • Coordinate the development and compliance of a grant contracts reporting schedule. 
  • Identify and assess potential grant funding and sponsorship opportunities and Co-ordinate with program Manager for submission of grant funding. 
  • Coordinate the administration of grant acquittals and liaison with external Auditors to complete the process. 
  • Keep accurate records of all contracts including progress updates and file notes. 
  • Coordinate with finance staff to ensure the accuracy of funding provisions. 
  • Develop and prepare regular reports on the status of funding agreements, contracts, and project management plans for Council. 
  • Determine the priorities, goals, and objectives of work functions as per reporting schedule. 
  • Source and negotiate new funding agreements and contracts.

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all activities.

What you’ll bring to the team

To qualify, candidates will need proven knowledge and experience in writing grant submissions, including the ability to conduct research and negotiate. 

Additionally, you will join with the following skills and background:

  • Tertiary Diploma or equivalent experience in Contract Management, Accounting, or related discipline (desirable or work experience).
  • High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and a demonstrated ability to compile, write and analyse reports.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a small team.
  • Personal integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Previous experience working with Northern Territory and Commonwealth Government funding Agencies.
  • Previous experience in the development of a contracts reporting schedule.
  • Advanced computer skills and previous experience in the development of a computer database for contract management system.
