The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest councils in New South Wales, serving one of Sydney’s most culturally, socially, and economically diverse communities. We provide 28 essential services, including childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities, aquatic centres, and events to over 380,000 residents.
The Role
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic team player to deliver end-to-end graphic design solutions for internal customers. This role involves adhering to brand guidelines, managing individual projects, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality outputs that align with our community’s needs.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Design a variety of collateral, adhering to brand strategy and style guidelines.
- Develop end-to-end graphic and digital design projects in alignment with customer briefs.
- Create and present concepts for major initiatives.
- Interpret and organize information hierarchies effectively when designing collateral.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure projects resonate with our community.
- Manage communication with internal stakeholders from project briefing to delivery.
- Contribute to cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
- Create and manage templates for customers in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Creating advertisements, posters, banners, newsletters, publications, digital assets including web and social media content to maintain design standards.

You will have
- Tertiary qualification in visual, graphic or communication design combined with at least five years graphic design industry experience.
- At least five years of industry experience in producing innovative and high-quality graphic, visual, and digital design collateral.
- Demonstrated experience in creating targeted and engaging creative content.
- Highly skilled Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Experience with After Effects, Adobe Express Adobe Premier would be desirable.
- Fundamental knowledge in and Microsoft Office programs Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Solid understanding of pre-press production and digital formats, with the ability to oversee the production of publications and display materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers to achieve impactful outcomes for the community.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $90,858 (Grade G, Step1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
