This position is classified as a PACS Band 7 ($88,997 - $97,595 p.a) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

What’s On Offer
An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a qualified individual with relevant experience in Work Health and Safety management to join the HR team within the City of Kwinana. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and fostering a strong organisational safety culture and system that promotes safe and healthy work practices within the organisation. The successful candidate will also identify and responds to WHS risk management issues and matters ensuring statutory compliance is achieved.

This position will also require you to assist managers with investigations relating to accidents and incident and to identify possible causes and to recommend remedial action.

What You’ll Need
To make an impact in this role, the successful candidate will have:

1.    Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (or working towards) or extensive industry experience.
2.    Sound working knowledge of the applicable WHS legislation and its application.
3.    Working knowledge of Injury Management and legislation relevant to work health & safety. 
4.    Developed interpersonal skills and with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and proactive while also be a committed, active and supportive contributor in a team environment.
5.    Ability to provide the highest quality of customer service and demonstrate a positive WHS purpose through an enthusiastic and committed approach.
6.    Developed communication skills both written and verbal..
7.    Developed conflict resolution, negotiation, investigative skills and analytical skills with the ability to prioritse tasks.
8.    Possession of a Driver’s Licence.
9.    Proven ability to deal with sensitive information and situation in a professional and confidential manner.
10.    Working knowledge of the City’s Safety software system (MyOSH) or similar is desirable.
11.    Knowledge of ChemAlert system is desirable.
