This exciting traineeship is structured to enhance your journey towards obtaining a Certificate III in Horticulture, offering you the chance to dive into hands-on experience and put into practice the diverse skills and knowledge you'll gain along the way.
Whilst actively participating in TAFE structured study, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the horticultural care of the City’s vibrant hard and soft landscape assets, including lush gardens hard and soft landscape assets including gardens, turf, trees, playgrounds and infrastructure. You will be based at the City of Perth Depot in Osborne Park and across the Perth CBD, with the City providing a vehicle during work hours.
General direction and mentoring will be provided from more senior staff (Supervisors, Team Leaders and Horticulturalists) and with guidance also provided from the City’s wider Parks and Environment team you will develop a wide range of skills. Ensuring you succeed and grow in your role.
About you
If you have enrolled, or willing to be enrolled in a Cert III in Horticulture and have sound written as well as oral communication skills, we welcome your application.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the position, you will need to demonstrate:
- You are an Australian Citizen or New Zealand passport holder;
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months);
- Fitness for work via a pre-employment medical;
- A current ‘C’ class Australian drivers’ licence; and
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) or a willingness to obtain one.
