An exciting opportunity exists to join the Horticultural Services team, as the Horticulture Team Leader (City Gardens). The City Gardens team of City Presentation includes Cook Park, Civic Centre Gardens and CBD Gardens including roundabouts.
Jobs/Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planning, supervising and coordinating safe work activities and programs for the City Gardens area including:
- Supervising, leading and mentoring staff, apprentices and contractors
- Requiring a strong understanding of plant identification and sound horticultural practices for optimal plant health in a variety of environments
- Develop and/or monitor work schedules that ensures WHS compliance and effective work outputs
- Developing, implementing, coordinating and undertaking maintenance and improvement tasks for programmed and non-programmed work
- Implementing the completion of capital works programs
- Liaising with members of the community to resolve issues in relation to city gardens maintenance

Skills/Experience
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Diploma in Amenity/Urban Horticulture or Aboriculture
- Demonstrated leadership / supervisory skills and excellent verbal communication skills, as well as experience in a similar role coordinating and planning programs
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence or ability to obtain
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal history check
- A NSW General Construction Induction Card
- A ChemCert AQF3 Chemical Accreditation
- RMS Traffic Controller qualifications TCR & TMP & PWZ
