About the role
This role provides valuable support to Bayside Council’s Workplace Relations team, assisting with a range of human resource functions. The successful candidate will work primarily within the Workplace Relations team while also contributing to broader Business Transformation and Payroll functions. You will assist with key People and Culture initiatives, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, policy research, staff engagement, payroll processing, and HR system administration.
You can also expect to:
- Provide support to the People & Culture Partners and Talent Acquisition team with operational matters.
- Assist with the employment lifecycle, including drafting contracts, letters, and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies.
- Assist with maintaining employee records and ensuring documentation is easily accessible.
- Undertake research and support P&C projects, including Learning and Development, Work Health and Safety, and Business Improvement.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes and payroll system amendments.
- Conduct weekly reviews of payroll system changes, ensuring data accuracy and governance.
- Support the team with day-to-day operational tasks and ad hoc activities.
About you
We are looking for a motivated, self-starter with attention to detail and passion for data administration.
We are looking for someone who is proficient in as follows:
- Great with technology, such as Excel and database/payroll systems.
- Meticulous organisation & time management skills to meet the weekly deadlines.
- As you will also be exposed to confidential information – thus a high degree of professionalism and discretion is required.
- Exceptional eye for detail will be another key attribute required

Salary Range: From $70,000 to $80,000 per annum, pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation
