Working collaboratively to achieve this Vision, our People and Performance team are trusted HR practitioners, advisors and strategic partners to the business. They are responsible for delivering effective strategic and operational employee relations (ER), industrial relations (IR) and talent acquisition (TA) services that are grounded in HR best practice, our organisational Values, and legislative framework. The team is filled with talented and passionate individuals who are committed to working together, and with the business, to achieve its goals and objectives.

About the Opportunity

Human Resources Business Partners support the team by driving the implementation of contemporary HR policies, processes, and programs designed to improve our employee experience, and to positively influence workforce planning, workplace change, inclusion, health and wellness, and performance excellence.

About you

Georges River Council is seeking a passionate and resilient Human Resources Business Partner, a key generalist role where you will provide invaluable strategic and operational ER/IR services. You will achieve this through proactive partnership, fostering strong relationships with client groups to deliver innovative solutions that support business outcomes, and our people.

We’re looking for someone who will share in achieving our Vision, with extensive experience in strategic and operational human resources and industrial relations matters. You are a highly developed communicator, teamed with a high level of initiative, diplomacy, and analytical thinking. You have proven ability to establish strong and trusting relationships, complimenting a commitment to excellent customer service, continuous improvement, and ethical principles and practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or related field.
  • Extensive experience in strategic and operational human resources and/or industrial relations at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply industrial awards, employment legislation, policies and procedures to delivery of HR services.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and systems ability, including MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Current Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
