About the Role

Become a part of our team at Wollongong City Council as an Information Architect, where you will lead the information management strategy by defining and implementing transformative data initiatives through collaborative forums, standards, and best practices.

In this role, you will establish the data model and align it with the enterprise architectural plan. This alignment will ensure that the organisation's current and future information assets are documented, understood, and utilised to inform decisions and actions related to system design, authoritative data sets, and information security.

Leverage your knowledge of the business impact when information assets are lost, compromised, or mismanaged and work closely with senior leaders to identify and collaborate on opportunities for shared information governance initiatives.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position, salary from $110,392.99 up to $131,988.87 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

What You will be doing:

As an Information Architect, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data architecture requirements for data consolidation, data warehouses, data integration, and data migration projects. You will lead and advocate for data governance in alignment with Information Management Frameworks. Additionally, you will provide expert data architecture advice and solutions to achieve business outcomes within a complex organisational environment. This role will also see you:

  • Design and oversee the architecture for data consolidation, ensuring seamless integration and migration of data across various platforms
  • Champion data governance practices, ensuring compliance with established Information Management Frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data architecture solutions that support strategic business objectives
  • Analyse and optimise existing data structures to enhance data quality, accessibility, and security
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve data architecture and governance processes

About you:

You have a deep passion for emerging technologies, architectures, and techniques, coupled with the ability to assess and analyse complex data challenges in an innovative environment. Your proven leadership and interpersonal skills enable you to understand and influence stakeholders' information management requirements effectively. Additionally, your advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities will empower you to develop strategies that enhance information management practices across the organisation.

Along with your relevant degree qualifications, you bring demonstrated experience in a combination of information architecture and information governance.
