About the role
We’re seeking an Information Services (IS) Business Partner to act as the conduit between our business units and IS. In this role, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand their technology needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement practical solutions that enhance our business.
As a naturally skilled communicator, you’ll simplify complex technical concepts, ensuring stakeholders understand and embrace technology-driven changes. Your ability to engage, influence, and collaborate will be critical to driving innovation and continuous improvement across the City.
Reporting to the Manager Information Services, this is a permanent full-time position in a thriving local council – if you’re ready for challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
Whilst we appreciate applications from all areas, priority will be placed on Perth based candidates to ensure a quick and smooth transition.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with the business to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
- Facilitating communication between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and flow of information
- Educating stakeholders and driving digital literacy to maximise efficiency of IT tools and systems
- Leading business improvement efforts by driving user adoption of systems and processes
- Translating complex technical concepts into people-friendly language to foster understanding and buy-in from stakeholders
- Ensuring IS solutions are seamlessly integrated into daily operations and acting as a liaison between business units and IS
- Regular evaluation and reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement
What we’re looking for:
- Qualifications: A degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field and any relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified, analytics software, Lean Six Sigma, PRINCE2, PMP, PROSCI, etc).
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in a similar role (preferably in IT or business management), with a focus on process improvement and stakeholder engagement
- Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: you’re able to develop trust and strong relationships by understanding business needs and acting as a bridge between IS and the City
- Process Improvement & Change Facilitation: you can analyse and refine workflows, ensuring smooth transitions to new technologies with effective change management strategies
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: you’re a natural communicator, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical people
