The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.

 

The role

CBCity is looking for x2 Information Support Officers to join our team. In this role, you will deliver proactive, customer-focused information management services that meet the short, medium, and long-term needs of the Council, ensuring compliance with the NSW State Records Act and Local Government regulations.

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure Council information is properly stored, managed and disposed of, ensuring accessibility of accurate data.
  • Process incoming mail/emails, including scanning, classification, registration  and responding to inquiries.
  • Provide advice on Information Management and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, focusing on continuous improvement and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Prepare property correspondence, including numbering new developments, property inquiries, and assisting with property inspections.
  • Maintain information security and confidentiality, ensuring access restrictions to records.
  • Manage and administer off-site storage and retrieval services for Council.
  • Assist with the Archival Program for appraisal and disposition of records, both physical and digital.
  • Contribute to developing training materials, policies, and procedures related to information systems.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of skills and training.

You will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Records or Information Management, combined with practical experience. 
  • Valid Driver’s Licence. 
  • Strong understanding of the State Records Act 1998 and relevant Records Management standards. 
  • Experience working with Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS). 
  • Well-developed organisational, problem-solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships through excellent customer service. 

 

Public sector experience, along with proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and property numbering, is desirable but not essential.

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $80,293 (Grade F, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
