Irrigation Technician

An opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join our Vegetation Works Team. This position provides quality service to the Hill’s Shire community. You must have the ability to work as part of a team to complete a variety of tasks associated with the provision of irrigation installation and maintenance of services for sportsgrounds, turfed areas and gardens within public reserves, parks and recreation areas.

• Follow Maintenance Activity Specifications to complete a variety of tasks associated with the installation and maintenance of irrigations systems located in parks, gardens and sporting venues within allocated timeframes

• Installation of new irrigation systems

• Maintenance of existing irrigation systems

• Irrigation of turf and garden areas in accordance with horticultural practices

• Installation and maintenance of surface and sub-surface drainage in turfed and garden areas

• Minor repairs and maintenance work on parks infrastructure

1. Tertiary qualification in relevant Horticultural field or equivalent trade certificate

2. Formal qualification relevant to urban irrigation systems

3. Confined Spaces Gas Test Atmosphere & Issue Permit licence

4. Confined Spaces – Operate Breathing Apparatus Licence

5. Confined Space Rescue Licence

6. Oxygen Fuel Equipment & Handling Licence

7. White Card - General Construction Induction

8. Chemical Safety – AQF3 Accreditation

9. NSW Drivers Licence (Class LR)

10. First Aid & CPR Accreditation

11. Sound knowledge of WH&S policies and procedures

12. Ability to use mobile communication devices, including mobile phones and iPads.

Permanent full-time role on a nine-day fortnight, W0095 Salary: Up to $70K + Superannuation
