ISS Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) - Part Time

Thursday and Friday weekly

 

 

The Role

 

Georges River Council have a great opportunity for an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) at their Early Learning Centre located in Penshurst.  In this role you will be joining a friendly and passionate Early Learning team at Penshurst Long Day Care Centre, who enjoy providing a stimulating and secure learning environment for all children attending the Centre.

 

You will provide high quality early childhood education and assist in the planning and implementation of programmes which meet the developmental, cultural and special needs of children in care. You will also be required to provide support to and ensure regular communication with parents of children in care.

 

 

What We Offer

  • 1 x Part Time Contract, Inclusion Support Subsidy (ISS) position (till end of June 2025 with possible extension till year-end)
  • Hours of work: 5 hours each day, Thursday and Friday
  • Part-Time Salary from $17,165.66 - $19,888.54 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

Essential

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry
  • Current Working with Children Check, with at least 6 months until expiry
  • NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate
  • Previous experience working as a Childcare Assistant preferably with children 0-5 years of age in a Childcare Centre
  • Sound oral and written communication skills and ability to relate well to children, families, staff, volunteers and the community
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

 

Desirable

  • Food Handling and Preparation Training or Certification
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to prioritise and meet study and work commitments and/or deadlines
  • Ability to speak a relevant community language e.g., Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and children and families with special needs
  • Broad knowledge of child development
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Centre programmes
