SALARY: $2,014.12 - 2,307.57 pw + Super + Leaseback vehicle

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated Design Engineer Leader to utilise your civil engineering expertise and experience to deliver comprehensive, high-quality engineering services across Camden Council. By applying your technical knowledge, innovative solutions, and industry best practice, you will focus on providing engineering guidance, designing, and implementing efficient systems. You will collaborate closely with various Council departments to ensure successful execution of projects to the highest standards. Your role will involve maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and budgetary constraints, while taking pride in upholding the highest standards in all aspects of the work.

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineer or equivalent, accredited by Engineers Australia registered as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or actively working towards it.
  • Extensive experience in scoping, planning, investigating, designing, and estimating civil engineering projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering of engineering design standards, guidelines, and practices
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Experience in surveying with modern instruments and GPS technologies.
  • Proficient in project management, budgeting, and timelines
  • Strong customer and community engagement focus, with excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Design Software Programs, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and DRAINS

Desirable:

  • Experience in geotechnical, traffic, and structural engineering projects, including investigation, analysis, and design.
  • Previous local government experience and knowledge of government procedures.
  • Construction and project management experience, with traffic controller qualifications.
