The Role

Reporting to the Team Leader
Operations and internally titled Operations Supervisor - Transport Operations, the purpose of this position is to lead a small team to undertake
construction and maintenance activities and projects accordance with Council’s
Operations program. As part of this position, there is an on call roster system that requires availability for after hours response (on call allowance is in addition to base rate).

About You

You will have team supervisory skills and
experience and will be able to lead a small team of operational staff and sub-contractors to
ensure construction and maintenance activities are completed to an acceptable
standard. You will be keen to foster and build on the positive and safe
workplace culture within the team and importantly, you will promote a positive image of Council and its activities. 

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate level qualification in a related
    field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in the field of construction
    and maintenance
  • Experience leading operational staff and
    sub-contractors
  • Experience in the use of systems to collect
    and record the necessary day labour activity data
  • Experienced in championing safety and wellness
    and complying with safety responsibilities
  • Ability to determine plant and material
    requirements for major road and drainage maintenance and projects, including
    ability to interpret plans and execute works instructions
  • Valid Class C Licence
  • Safework NSW General Construction Induction
    Card (White Card)
  • Physically capable/ fit to undertake the
    manual handling required in the role
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
