Gordon Library is a vibrant community hub where knowledge, creativity, and connection flourish. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our patrons.

 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and innovative individual with a love for literature, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to service, ensuring all services are provided in a professional and friendly manner and meet the diverse needs of our community.

 

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Customer-focused service delivery to library clients
  • Organise and catalog library materials following established procedures
  • Plan and conduct programs and events that foster community engagement
  • Maintain a welcoming, organised, and efficient library environment
  • Stay current with library trends and emerging technologies
  • Supervise and allocate of workflows within a small team

 

Required experience & skills:

  • Qualifications as a librarian recognised by the Australian Library & Information Association (ALIA)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for books, learning, and community service
  • Current Working with Children Check

**As a part of the branch network team this role will be required to work at any of our libraries as rostered. A willingness to work flexible hours on occasion, including rostered evening and weekend work will be required**
