  • Salary $58,733.48 to $68,112.72 p/a pro-rata + super
  • Permanent part time position – 14 hours per week (Sunday & Monday)

About the role

Are you passionate about libraries, community service, and lifelong learning? Council is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Library Assistant to join our friendly team across our vibrant library network.

 

This role will be fully integrated with the operations of the library with duties including but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to library users of all ages
  • Assist with daily library operations including circulation, shelving, and stock management
  • Support library programs and events, including children’s storytimes, digital literacy sessions, and community workshops
  • Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment for all visitors
  • Assist with basic tech support for public computers, printing, and online resources

 

Required experience & skills:

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team and interact with the public
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with library systems and digital tools
  • A passion for books, learning, and community engagement
  • Current Working With Children Check

**As a part of the branch network team this role will be required to work at any of our libraries as rostered. A willingness to work flexible hours on occasion, including rostered evening and weekend work will be required**
