About the role

Join the City's Transport Services team and play a crucial role in providing essential community services.

Your daily tasks could involve the undertaking of roadside maintenance tasks, road pavement repairs, drainage system maintenance or some minor concreting works. We're looking for someone who loves working outdoors and thrives in a team environment.

If you're proactive with a positive attitude, friendly, and respectful when liaising with customers and team members, comfortable using mobile technology and maintenance management systems, can work with minimal supervision, and are committed to maintaining work health and safety practices, then you're the perfect fit.

What's on offer?

  • Multiple Opportunities available
  • $55,672.04 per annum + Superannuation
  • Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week
  • Options to accrue flex time and flexible working arrangements.
  • Generous leave entitlements - long service leave after 5 years
  • Scope for performance-based salary increases.
  • There will be a requirement to be available to support requests by the "on call" coordinator as and when required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction/Maintenance Operations or similar, and/or demonstrated significant experience in a relevant field.
  • National Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard).
  • Class MR Drivers Licence (or must obtain at your own cost within 6 months from appointment).

Desirable

  • Experience in operating small plant such as compaction plates, concrete vibrators, brush cutters, blowers, power sprays and chainsaws.
  • Module 1 (crosscut) chainsaw accreditation.
  • SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Licenses:.
    • Traffic controller (TCR).
    • Implement traffic control plans (IMP).
  • National Farm Chemical Users Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
