About the role
Our team is dedicated to providing accurate and insightful financial information to support and contribute to an Extraordinary Wollongong!
We are seeking an Accounting Professional to join our Finance team with the ability to provide valuable insights and support to our management team.
With your expertise in accounting and finance, you will proactively collaborate with individuals and teams throughout the organisation. You will provide professional financial advice and analysis on various aspects such as business operations, project evaluations, budgeting, and costing requirements. Additionally, you will promote awareness and understanding of financial policies, procedures, and information.
This is a Permanent full-time role, salary from $90,176.28 up to $105,571.26 per annum plus superannuation (salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).
What you will be doing:
- Key Team Member: Join a small team responsible for delivering the Council's Budget and Reporting functions.
- Exceptional Service: Provide outstanding support to the organisation and operational managers/teams in setting and managing their budgets and reporting.
- Business Analysis: Conduct business analysis, support grant and restricted asset processes, and assist with asset projects through effective budgeting, timely transactions, and reconciliations.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in the review and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and policies to ensure they meet the business requirements of the Council and all its internal and external customers.
About you:
You excel at building effective and constructive business relationships. Your well-developed communication skills enable you to work with, understand, support, influence, inform, educate, and negotiate with people at all levels of the organisation. You bring significant accounting experience, with a strong focus on budget preparation and review, financial analysis, presentation, and reporting. You are an accounting professional with high-level organisational and technical skills, holding a recognised accounting degree. You have experience using Financial Management Information Systems, spreadsheets, and other office applications
