1 x Permanent Full Time - 35 hours, 5 days per week – Hybrid workplace

Competitive Salary + 11.5% Superannuation + Lease back vehicle/Vehicle Allowance

Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Commercial Development Manager to join our team. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for our commercial property portfolio, supporting our corporate objectives, and fulfilling strategic and statutory responsibilities. You will collaborate with all Directorates of Council to deliver complex development projects that align with our long-term vision and enhance community outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This pivotal role involves navigating complex political and policy environments, offering strategic insights, and ensuring the Council remains well-positioned to achieve its goals. The ideal candidate will excel in managing risks and seizing opportunities while delivering expert advice to shape and drive key initiatives.

The Manager, Commercial Development is responsible for:

  • Strategy Development: Formulate and execute a robust commercial property strategy that aligns with the Council’s corporate objectives and strategic goals.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage complex commercial development projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet the Council’s vision and statutory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal Directorates and external stakeholders to drive project success and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the commercial property portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth, redevelopment, and optimisation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all development projects adhere to relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term planning initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to support the Council’s growth and sustainability objectives.

 

ABOUT YOU

 The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Property, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial property, development, or a related field, ideally within a local government or public sector context.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex development projects with a successful track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, and local government processes.
