We're seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Economic Development and Tourism team, driving initiatives that enhance our local economy, attract businesses, showcase the beauty of our area to visitors, and enhance community capacity, connectedness, and well-being.

The Opportunity

As the Manager of Economic Development and Tourism, you will play a pivotal role in establishing positive relationships with local businesses, attracting new enterprises to Nambucca Valley, supporting our economic and tourism development efforts, and in identifying and understanding community needs. You will lead our team in implementing strategic plans, managing contracts, coordinating events, and overseeing community development programs to achieve our goals outlined in the Council’s Community Strategic Plan and Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.

As the marketing contact for the Valla Urban Growth Area (VUGA) development project, you will be at the forefront of shaping the economic landscape of the region

Who are we looking for?

Critical to success in this role, you will have a degree or equivalent experience in business, economic development, marketing or tourism; extensive experience in local government or a related industry; experience in land development; high level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and expertise in financial management.
