Manager Infrastructure Planning

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Manager Infrastructure Planning to lead and manage Council’s forward planning of infrastructure through the development of sound asset management planning, design and development of pre-construction activities and specify the construction standards for assets delivered by Council and Developers. Your New Role:

  • To lead and manage asset management, design, traffic management, road safety, emergency
    services and development engineering services across the Council which are consistent with the
    Community Strategic Plan, Workplace Environment Statement and legislative requirements
  • To lead and manage accurate and timely engineering advice to support the development control
    function, to ensure that development assessment, subdivision and linen release processes meet
    statutory requirements and targets set by Council
  • To review and update Council’s Asset Management Plans
  • Facilitate the development of forward works Capital Programs for Council’s Transport Assets based
    on the Asset Management Plans
  • Lead, Plan and Organise design and other pre-construction activities required for the timely delivery
    of the forward works Capital Program
  • Facilitate the development of contract documentation and supervise contract works (in the role of
    Principal’s Representative)
  • Lead the investigation and recommendation of Council’s Traffic and Road Safety issues, including
    servicing the Local Traffic Advisory Committee
  • To participate in the development of appropriate strategies, policies and standards that are linked to
    Council’s Strategic Plan
  • To monitor and make recommendations regarding the ongoing effectiveness of Council’s policies
    and standards associated areas of responsibility
  • To resolve issues with a range of stakeholders providing customer focused and timely service
  • To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the
    Workplace Environment Statement.

About You:

  • You hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by the institute of Engineers Australia
  • You hold a Class C Drivers Licence
  • You have extensive experience in engineering related role and knowledge of key legislation as it relates to this role
  • You have highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others
  • You have advanced skills in public relations, liaison and negotiation including the ability to identify, engage and motivate key stakeholders
  • You have creative and analytical problem solving skills, including the ability to research and analyse complex issues, showing initiative and good judgement
  • You have knowledge of development assessment processes, asset management and engineering design functions
  • You have proven ability to Project Manage; including budgeting and contract administration
  • You have knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
