Your Position:
Reporting to the Group Manager Operations and working collaboratively across Council, the Manager Waste and Cleansing will manage Council’s Resource and Recovery and Waste Services contracts to meet community expectations.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-
- Leading and strengthening the Waste and Cleansing department and building a strong culture of customer responsiveness;
- Developing and implementing best practice processes, systems and procedures including introducing new technology solutions to enhance efficiencies;
- Supporting the development and implementation of regional waste strategies and resource sharing opportunities across Councils and other external agencies;
- Contributing to the review and implementation of Council’s Waste Management Policy; and,
- Reporting regularly to the Group Manager and Director.
To be successful in this role you will have:-
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business administration, contract
management, environmental studies or a related discipline with relevant
experience in a similar role - Sound knowledge of contractor management and supervision
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- High level experience in leading and developing teams
Key Requirements:
- COVID 19 vaccination (2 Vaccines)
- Willingness to complete a National Police History Check
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Local Government work experience an advantage
