About the Role
City of Ryde Council in partnership with the NSW Government is offering a Mechanic Apprenticeship position as part of the 'Fresh start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets’ Program.
A Mechanic apprenticeship is a four-year apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will join City of Ryde’s City Fleet team which is responsible for Council’s Fleet and Plant maintenance and repair.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a great way to kick-start your career. You get paid on-the-job training, whilst also completing a nationally recognised qualification.
To apply you must:
- Willing to enrol or currently enrolled in a mechanic apprenticeship program (1st or 2nd year).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift moderate weights.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety
- A valid driver’s license and White Card
- Willing to learn new skills and participant in business improvement initiatives
Commencing Salary: $398.70- $809.70 per week, dependent upon age and school qualifications.
