About the opportunity

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an appropriately qualified person to assist in the maintenance, repair and servicing of the our fleet at the Rooty Hill Depot. 

Council has a rapidly expanding fleet of vehicles and plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Repair and service of our vehicles and small plants while working in a safe manner at all times and not to endanger fellow workers
  • Maintenance of our vehicles and small plants in compliance with industry standards
  • Comply with statutory authorities and be aware of the consequences of non-compliance.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • NSW Government Tradespersons Certificate - Motor Mechanic
  • Suitable experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Current class C driver's licence
  • Computer literate.

Desirable:

  • Current class HR driver's licence
  • Post trade qualifications and experience in this specialised trade including vehicle RMS Pink Slip Accreditation, fitting / turning and knowledge of pumps.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per week
  • An additional 21.8% in accordance with Council's Workshop Flexibility Agreement
  • 76-hour working fortnight
  • Rotating Shift Hours
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
