Natural Areas Team Leader

 

  • Salary $123,337.24 to $143,070.72 p/a + super
  • Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week
  • Leaseback Vehicle included

 

About Ku-ring-gai Council

Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Environment & Sustainability, this role will see you provide technical advice on the management of natural areas, environmental assets, native title and Aboriginal heritage. You will also coordinate and complete Part 5 environmental assessments, conduct environmental monitoring and mapping and develop and review planning controls, plans of management, policies and strategies.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline and substantial work experience in a similar capacity
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current class C Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Part 5 environmental assessments
  • Experience in providing technical natural resource management advice in planning processes and projects
  • Experience in environmental management planning, including the development of policies, strategies and plans of management
  • Competent in the use of MS Office programs, GIS and data base software
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
