As a Natural Resources Officer, you'll support our region's native flora and fauna by keeping unwanted weeds and pests in check. With a blend of field experience and bio-security knowledge you'll support the green spaces in your community ensuring a thriving environment for all. From providing guidance on natural resources to connecting with supportive internal and external teams, you'll cultivate a fulfilling career and lifestyle.

You'll work with a great team to:

  • Implement weed and pest management strategies for the region.
  • Apply and manage chemical treatments for biosecurity threats, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Respond to public enquiries and concerns regarding natural resource issues.
  • Conduct field inspections and coordinate resource management activities to ensure cost effective and environmentally sound operations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the Weeds Action Plan objectives.


What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Weed or Natural Resource Management or the ability to obtain this within two years of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Biosecurity activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use and management of chemicals used for weed management.
  • Experience in writing reports and collecting evidence in Biosecurity matters for potential litigation.

We would also love you to have:

  • Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination and conduct of volunteer activities

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $65,812 to $76,484.
