The Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Open Space Operations and based in Wilberforce NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and supervise operational staff while carrying out Open Space maintenance, construction programs and street tree pruning.

About You

You will have demonstrated, practical experience as a supervisor with a background leading a team of operational staff in maintenance, open spaces, or similar function. You will be a champion for safety and ensure your team are consistently operating under WHS safe work practices. You will demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and be physically fit to undertake the requirements of the position.

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate III in Horticulture
  • Fell Small Trees certification
  • Chainsaw Level 2 certification
  • MR Licence
  • Chemical Application certificate
  • Manual Handling certificate
  • Demonstrated practical experience in a supervisory role
  • Sound knowledge of horticulture and arboriculture
  • Demonstrated experience in the safe use of herbicide and pesticide spraying
  • Demonstrated experience in visual tree inspections, tree defect identification and risk mitigation
  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • WHS General Construction Work in NSW
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
