About the Role
In this role, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of Community and Recreation Capital Works projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes from initiation to completion. You will oversee budgets, tenders, and contracts, ensuring compliance with statutory procurement requirements and Council policies, ensuring financial accountability and timely completion. Additionally, you will prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, promoting transparency and informed decision-making.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, contractors and government agencies, ensuring seamless project execution.
As a leader, you will guide a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will empower your team to uphold Council's Guiding Principles, helping them achieve their goals while driving excellence in project delivery.
About You
To excel in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
You will have extensive experience delivering civic building and public infrastructure projects, particularly in politically sensitive environments, along with a proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and complex projects. Strong project management skills enable you to effectively prioritise tasks in deadline-driven environment. Additionally, you bring advanced communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, essential to navigate challenges and build collaborative relationships. Your business-driven and service-focused approach coupled with your leadership abilities will enable you to mentor your team, facilitate stakeholder and risk workshops, and ensure successful outcomes for the Council.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role, working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $135,629 to $150,548 per annum based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% superannuation + plus a leaseback vehicle option.
