About the role

Orange OSHC provides Before and After School Care during school term and Vacation Care during school holidays for school aged children. OSHC provides a secure and happy place to get ready for school, or to wind down after the school day, in a safe and friendly environment. The program is developed with the participation of the children, focusing on play and socialisation, which are all guided by the My Time Our Place Framework. Job/Responsibilities

This position will assist the OSHC Coordinator to lead, guide and support a team providing education and care to children in an OSHC service. This includes:

  • Leading a team in the education and care service in line with the approved Delivery/Operational Plan, and in accordance with adopted standards, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with communities, families, school Principals and staff to advocate for and promote educational and care and ensuring a collaborative approach to educating children.
  • Leading the development and implementation of the curriculum as the Educational Leader for the service
  • Supporting other educators with critical reflection on the practices of the service and assisting to develop and implement a Quality Improvement Plan
  • Acting as the Responsible Person for the service if and when required

So what do you need?

  • Diploma in Education and Care or Certificate IV in OSHC or other relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working in an early childhood or OSHC service providing care and education to children aged 5 to 12 years
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills and the ability to coach, mentor and manage others
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check clearance number
