About the Opportunity
Cessnock City Council has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Ranger Services team in a newly created Parking Ranger position.
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in enforcing local laws and regulations, focusing on parking enforcement, managing unattended items, and ensuring public safety. Your expertise will also be instrumental in developing and implementing educational programs to enhance understanding and compliance within our community.
The Parking Ranger performs a diverse range of duties including:
- Investigating and taking appropriate action in relation to unattended items;
- Enforcing Roads and Traffic Regulations relating to on-street parking, footpath obstruction, heavy vehicles on local and main roads and disabled parking in privately owned car parks;
- Ensuring accurate and decisive professional service is provided to the community, ensuring confidentiality is maintained and matters are dealt with in a timely manner; and
- Developing and implementing education programs for Ranger Services.

Remuneration
$79,228 - $91,738 per annum plus superannuation

About You
To be successful in this position, you will have completed a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or Government Investigations or have another relevant equivalent qualification and previous experience as a Parking Officer, Ranger or in a related regulatory role is desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, exceptional customer service skills, ensuring positive interactions with members of the community.
