About the position
Narromine Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant for our Payroll & Human Resources Officer position. The primary purpose of this position is as below:
- Provide timely and accurate processing of payroll to ensure Council employees are paid correctly and on time.
- To maintain the employee training database and keep employees up to date with legislative training.
- To co-ordinate the end to end recruitment process ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
Essential
- Experience in payroll administration and working with a computerised payroll and HR information system.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team in a professional and positive manner with the ability to be tactful, discrete and maintain a high level of confidentiality when dealing with matters of a sensitive nature.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills to meet defined deadlines.
- Good computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying industrial awards, legal advice and other relevant legislation.
- Possess and maintain a current `C’ Class Licence
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Human Resources or experience in a relevant environment.
- Experience working in Local Government.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Civica Authority Financial System.
The details relating to this position are:
- The position is graded 12 within Council's salary structure
- The salary range is from $77,142 - $87,386 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment.
- 35 hour working week applies. NSC has a flexitime system whereby you may work 37.50 hours per week to bank 2.5 hours per week to be used at a later date.
- Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award

- Council will check the authenticity of certificates and qualification
