About the Role
This is a 12-month, limited tenure role. Working with the Planning and Development Manager, the Planning and Permits Officer is responsible for the services and outcomes that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan, including:
- Permits and approvals for works by others
- Driveway and stormwater connection assessment and approvals
- Contractor coordination
- Planning and development support, including documentation review, administration, inspections
- Road safety and traffic management
What you need:
• Minimum diploma level qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent, drafting, town planning, building and/ or construction, or equivalent
• Minimum 12 months experience in town planning, civil construction and/ or civil infrastructure design, drafting or similar role
• Experience in providing quality customer service to a range of stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills in problem solving and resolving complex issues
• Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction standards, current technology, and design requirements
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to prepare correspondence
• Possession or ability to obtain a White Card.
