From Learn to Swim programmes, squad training, private lessons, school swimming carnivals, and our fun-filled monster island days – we're at the heart of aquatic enjoyment.
We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for all, and we are looking for a Pool and Facilities Assistant to join our team.
About the Role
Dive into an exciting opportunity as a Pool and Facilities Assistant, where you will assist the Pool Team Leader with overseeing the operations of all Narrabri Shire Council swimming pool facilities, whilst addressing inquiries and maintaining positive relationships with the community. Other responsibilities include:
- Providing support and guidance to casual staff to improve their skills;
- Adhering to relevant guidelines, legislation, and industry standards;
- Proactively managing risks to ensure a safe environment;
- Performing administrative tasks such as cash handling and using computer software;
- Monitoring and maintaining the swimming pool plant and equipment;
- Ensuring high standards in kiosk operations;
- Filling in as a Learn to Swim Instructor when qualified.
As the seasons change, you may also dive into projects with the Commercial Services Team, based on your skills and capabilities.

About You
We are seeking a candidate who shows innovation, personal drive, initiative with excellent customer services skills. The ideal candidate also has:
- Has relevant licences and accreditations, including a current NSW Working With Children Check and Pool Lifeguard Skill Set;
- Demonstrates a keen interest in the aquatic industry, including lifesaving, first aid, swimming pool operations, and maintenance;
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Ability to build effective relationships, both internal and external
Experience in a similar role is preferred, but we welcome candidates with a passion for the industry and a willingness to learn and grow.
