About the role
This is a permanent, full time role working 38 hours per week throughout Council's Boongaree Precinct.

This role is responsible for overseeing and performing daily operational landscaping, mowing, cleaning and playground maintenance activities at locations including Boongaree, Berry Showground and Berry Sporting Complex. Additionally, this role serves as a point of contact for public inquiries and supervises staff and contractors working within the precinct.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Precinct Coordinator - North, the focus of this position is to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Boongaree Precinct
  • Provide supervision and direction to the Precinct Maintainers at Berry Showground, in undertaking grounds maintenance, cleaning and camping management in a safe, clean and professional manner
  • Liaise closely with the Berry Showground Management Committee
  • Co-ordinate and supervise staff, labour, subcontractors, plant and materials for:
    • Grounds and general maintenance
    • Inspection and asset maintenance of playground equipment and other fixed infrastructure in consultation with the Northern Precinct Inspector
  • To undertake a wide range of general gardening duties and provide horticultural expertise and services
  • To undertake safe operation of plant and / or specialist equipment utilising advanced skills to deliver outcomes with a high degree of accuracy

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Horticulture Trade qualification in certificate III or above in any of the following: Sports Turf Management, Parks & Gardens, Landscaping, Arboriculture or any other relevant qualifications and relevant work experience.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
  • MR licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)

This position requires a current NSW Working with Children Check. Applicants are required to apply and pay for this check if not already obtained.
