The Bangala-la Preschool Teacher will have the opportunity to work with a great team of Early Childhood staff, in a facility which has extensive indoor and outdoor areas and resources, enabling them to incorporate their own visions and personality.

About the Opportunity

Central West Childcare Services - Bangala-la Preschool is seeking a Preschool Teacher to work in a new purpose built facility. 

This role will be responsible for providing early childhood education to children up to approximately five years of age. Our aim is to inspire and enrich each child’s growth and development through nurturing care, developing interactive learning and providing educational programs that are fun for children. We need someone who enjoys working in an environment where changing conditions requires you to rapidly assess the needs of young children and adapt those important and necessary skills, and being able to monitor and gently correct children’s behaviour in the classroom to foster behavioural and social skills. The Preschool teacher will also need to effectively communicate with parents to ensure they are meeting expectations for their children’s educational and developmental needs.

Essential Criteria

Preschool Teacher

To be considered for the Preschool Teacher position you will need to have:

  • ACECQA approved university degree in Education/Teaching/Early Childhood Education with current NESA Teacher Accreditation approved as Proficient

OR

  • Diploma of Children's Services trained and near completion of a university degree that meets the above description

Other Essential Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in these positions you will need to have:

  • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of the National Quality Frameworks
  • Knowledge of child development and current practices in childcare
  • Sound knowledge of Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • Proven experience with written documentation
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high-quality care
  • Computer literacy
  • First Aid HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Child Protection Certificate
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police History Check
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia

Remuneration and Benefits

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment.

Preschool Teacher

  • The Grade applicable to this position is Grade 13 within Council's salary structure. 
  • The annual salary offered starts at $81,541.20 ($41.27hr). Starting salary to be determined upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant.  
  • 38 hour working week
