This position is responsible for engaging and building effective business relations with Managers and HR representatives to support the delivery of Council’s operations and strategy related to industrial and employment relations matters. It is a pivotal role in the coordination and undertaking of processes that deliver HR and Wellbeing services to various stakeholders. The role of our Principal Coordinator – Workplace Relations:
- Provide sound advice, partnering and coaching to various stakeholder groups
- Work with Managers and supervisors to identify business performance needs and delivering a broad range of innovative workplace and people solutions to support change and the implementation of initiatives
- Proactively assist, educate and support HR Business Partners, Managers and Supervisors in managing workplace issues
- Case Manage more complex workplace relations matters including grievance, performance management, and discipline and industrial relations matters
- Conduct internal investigation/manage external investigations
- Provide input and advice in relation to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of industrial awards/agreements and related policies, including assistance in related consultation and negotiation with relevant unions and other key stakeholders
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR & Wellbeing policies and procedures to enhance efficient management of HR & Wellbeing processes and provide support, research and advice on related projects
- Provide advice and interpretation of Awards and Agreements provisions and other legislation and HR policies relevant to workplace relations
What we are seeking in our new team member:
- Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) or similar
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting Awards, workplace agreements and legislation
- Demonstrated experience with local relevant employee representative bodies, councils and/or unions
- Experience in coaching and partnering with people leaders
- Generalist human resource management experience including workforce planning, talent engagement, change management and workplace design.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, together with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- NSW Drivers Licence – C Class
Benefits of Working with us:
Salary starting from $178K per annum pro rata (4 day per week) inclusive of Car Allowance and Superannuation; and the opportunity to earn a Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual salary) + Organisational Bonus (up to $2K), learning and development opportunities, active Social Club, Modern Offices, onsite undercover parking and Café.
