Due to continued growth in our Environment & Sustainability division, the opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Estuary Officer to our highly skilled team to continue to make a true and meaningful impact on our community.

About the Role

As our Principal Estuary Officer, you will be responsible for the project management of the Hunter River Estuary Coastal Management Program development in accordance with the NSW Coastal Management Manual. This will also include overseeing the communications, stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract management, budgeting and reporting of the program.

A key component of this role will see you engage with and provide regular guidance and professional advice to both internal and external stakeholders on estuary matters including environmental protection and legislative requirements. As the subject matter expert, this role will also see you deliver estuary and wetland education and awareness activities as well as capacity building programs for the community and internal stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or have equivalent contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in an estuaries related role.

You will have demonstrated problems solving, analytical and research skills with proven ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations. You will have demonstrated project management skills and be able to provide clear communication appropriate to all stakeholders.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time opportunity working 35 hours per week, with a base salary ranging from $115,446 - $128,145 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% p.a superannuation.
