The Role
The Principal Work Health Safety & Wellbeing reports directly to the Manger People & Safety leading the WHS & Wellbeing team. You will work collaboratively with all areas of Council to influence and develop a best practice safety culture through the interpretation and implementation of all current legislation to ensure our safety programs are at all times compliant.
You will develop and implement policies and procedures to support our safety programs and carry out comprehensive risk identification and assessments across all areas of the business to ensure the work, health safety and wellbeing of all of our team members, contractors and visitors is maintained to the highest possible standard.
Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of any required safety training to ensure Council remains compliant with all of our safety obligations.
About You
We are looking for someone with energy, initiative and influence, who is passionate all things safety.
Ideally you will hold a Degree/Diploma in Work Health & Safety and at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Exposure to plant, traffic management, civil construction and infrastructure safety will be highly regarded.
Proven ability to positively influence a safety culture on an ongoing basis is essential, as is the ability to form and maintain successful relationships across all levels of the business.
