  • Developing resources to simplify complex privacy requirements for diverse stakeholders
  • Reporting on compliance to the leadership team, as well as identifying risks and opportunities for improving data privacy protection
  • Remaining abreast of privacy trends and changes in legislation, proactively updating practices and policies to remain compliant

What we’re looking for:

  • Privacy and Information Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of Australian privacy laws, governance frameworks, and the ability to maintain the Information Asset Register effectively
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop trust and strong relationships across business areas to ensure compliance and foster collaboration
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Experience designing and delivering training programs to improve awareness and adherence to privacy obligations
  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated capability to identify and address inefficiencies in information governance and data-sharing practices
  • Communication and Emotional Intelligence: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to translate complex privacy requirements into accessible language and foster positive team dynamics

A degree in Information Management, Law, Public Administration (or related fields), as well as certifications in privacy (e.g., CIPM, CIPP) or governance (e.g., ISO 27701) are highly desirable!

Why you will love working at the City!
