Shire housing is not provided with this position.
About the Position
The Shire of Ashburton is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our Deputy CEO team in Onslow, Tom Price, or Paraburdoo.
This role is critical in supporting the effective delivery of procurement and contract activities across the organisation. The successful candidate will be expected to bring a strong background in procurement, contract management, and supplier engagement, with the ability to navigate complex purchasing processes in a compliant and efficient manner.
Applicants should demonstrate strong procurement and contract management experience, preferably within a local government environment, with the ability to navigate complex procurement processes in line with legislation and Shire policy. Experience using VendorPanel or similar procurement systems is highly desirable.
You will work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, requiring excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The role also supports continuous improvement and contributes to procurement evaluation and decision-making processes.
While this is an office-based position, remote work arrangements may be considered for candidates with demonstrated experience and the ability to work independently. Occasional travel to Shire locations may be required, with travel expenses covered by the Shire.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package and six weeks’ annual leave. All terms and conditions are as per the Shire of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement 2022.
