Our Key Venues section oversees all of our aquatic and leisure centres. We deliver first-class activity and program choice, we promote Blacktown City as the leader in sport, recreation and leisure and we give every visitor and customer a safe and memorable experience. We are looking for enthusiastic and fun-loving individuals who share a commitment and passion for sport and leisure to join our Key Venues team as a Program Host.

Program Hosts are required at Blacktown Aquatic Centre, Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope and Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton to deliver exceptional children's programming at these venues. Expressions of Interest are being sought for enthusiastic individuals to apply to join the team at the venue of your choice.

Position purpose:

Program Hosts are responsible for delivering activities, programs, parties and competitions in a safe and enjoyable manner to attract the maximum participation level. If you are a big kid at heart, you would be perfect as a Program Host!

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current First Aid
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent oral communication
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Desirable:

  • Water Safety Awareness Module e.g. Perform Basic Water Rescues (PBWR) or equivalent (Wet side only)
  • Current driver's licence
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Child Protection Laws in NSW require Council to conduct checking and screening of recommended applicants.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this role starts at $27.6463 per hour plus 25% casual loading
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts 
  • Trainee rates apply for applicants under 19 years of age
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
