Our Assets and Infrastructure directorate is responsible for leading, planning, delivering and managing the development in Georges River Council including delivering new infrastructure, services including responding to residential, commercial and industrial growth. The directorate Business Units consist of:

  • City Operational Services
  • City Technical Services 
  • Premium Facilities
  • Strategic Placemaking

About the Opportunity 

This role sits within our City Technical Services business unit, which manages and leads the design and subsequent delivery of Council's infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer will report to the Coordinator Engineering and will be responsible for identifying, implementing and overseeing the construction of key civil and building works projects listed in the Community Strategic Plan and Operational Plan. 

We’re looking for someone with a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience in project management, civil works with comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and methods. You must bring a customer focused approach and can-do attitude to engage and influence key stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for Council and the community.

  • Permanent, Full-Time
  • Salary from $94,961.99 - $110,025.72 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
  • Civil Liability Allowance 3.5%
  • Vehicle Allowance $10,780

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management or Equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Workcover Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in the project management of civil and building construction works.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) in relation to delivery of building projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging stakeholders and the community.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant, report and award writing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards, relevant NSW Legislation and NSW State Government Policies, Technical Directions and Guidelines.
  • Proven experience in Risk Management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety Legislation.
