ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced professional to oversee the effective delivery of civil and building construction projects as outlined in the Delivery Program through effective project management and contract management in line with agreed standards, targets and objectives.

Although full time hours are preferable, Council will consider both part time and full time working arrangements, and will discuss preferred working arrangements with shortlisted candidates at interview stage.

To be successful you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as Civil Engineering or Building Design Management.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in overseeing civil construction projects or building design management, budgets and people in order to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief and manage service providers including consultants, contractors and temporary staff.
  • Proven sound project investigation and design skills associated with capital projects.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills, including high level ability to negotiate and consult on complex matters and provide technical advice and community information and services through effective written and verbal communication.

The rewards

  • A salary range of $90,800 to $117,100 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, level of experience and qualifications.
  • 19 day month flexible work arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, full time office staff will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break. For the duration of the trial arrangement, staff will also have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational requirements and approval.
