ABOUT US

Liverpool is one of the fastest growing, culturally diverse and dynamic Local Government Areas (LGA) in NSW. As the beating heart of South-West Sydney, the LGA will soon be home to over 300,000 residents, two Cities – Liverpool CBD and Bradfield – and Sydney’s newest international gateway, the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSIA).

ABOUT THE ROLE

The suburb of Austral is one of Liverpool’s fastest growing greenfield areas, and requires a plethora of new roads, parks, and community facilities to provide a vibrant and liveable place for our community. Council needs an experience project manager, who will coordinate a team of consultants who will prepare new infrastructure and planning strategies for Austral, which is commensurate with population growth. This will include a new integrated open space and drainage strategy, multi-modal transport strategy, retail centres strategy, retail centres activation strategy, and a planning proposal, Development Control Plan, and Contributions Plan amendment.

Council is seeking a motivated project manager, preferably with experience in delivering infrastructure and/or planning strategies, to manage the consultant team, liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure the project is completed on-time and within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be directly responsible for:

  • Project management of the Austral and Leppington North Infrastructure Review Project;
  • Successful management and delivery of project and program objectives related to quantity, quality, timeframes, safety, cost efficiency;
  • Managing the project and stakeholders to deliver strategies that are realistic, cost effective, politically sensitive, and align with community demands;
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including fostering collaboration across stakeholders;
  • Contract management, coordination of invoices from consultants, and liaison with State/Australian Government representatives on grant funding;
  • Identifying potential deficiencies in reports and outputs and developing solutions to overcome these challenges, in consultation with Council representatives and the Consultant Team;
  • Facilitating Council-led engagement sessions and discussing potentially contentious issues with stakeholders while mitigating risks to Council;
  • Convey one-self in a professional, collaborative, and outcome focussed manner; and
  • Carrying out other such duties as may be directed by the Executive Planner, Coordinator Strategic Planning and/or Manager City Planning.

This is a great opportunity to take that next step in your career and join a team that is at the forefront of greenfield planning in one of the most exciting and diverse regions in Sydney.
