About the role

The role of Project Manager Systems is to oversee the day-to-day work of a team of professional Systems Accountants. The role is also responsible for ensuring finance systems design and configuration is optimised to deliver strong business outcomes and that compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and mandatory legislative requirements are met. The Project Manager Systems is required to engage with employees, providing quality customer service and creating value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting or relevant field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Extensive experience in a similar role working in a large organisation using complex integrated financial systems e.g. Oracle or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in the maintenance and development of reporting solutions, systems integration, investigations, recommendations and sustainable system solutions for the organisation
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative and self-motivation to build strong creditable relationships and promote a positive, collaborative work environment to achieve organisational outcomes by influencing, persuading and negotiating outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and facilitating systems improvement projects with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendors to manage system issues and to develop and enhance the functionality provided by the system to users; • Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level that supports in-depth data analysis with large data sets
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislative and reporting framework for Local Government which includes but is not limited to Australian Accounting Standards, Local Government Act 1993, Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 and the Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting
  • Well-developed performance improvement and consultation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching and mentoring and change management
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation
  • Proven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findings.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $99k to $119k pa (dependent on skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation + up to $20k Market Loading Allowance
  • We have a temporary full-time role available 
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role 
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
