- Permanent Full-Time position working 76 hours per fortnight
- Salary range from $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation
- Work independently and as part of a small team
We’re looking for a motivated Project Officer – Parks and Environment to join our team and contribute to enhancing our community’s parks and environmental assets.
About the role
In this position, you will deliver high-quality outcomes for the Town by managing capital works and operational projects related to parks and the environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing projects such as playground upgrades, irrigation systems, turf maintenance, and horticultural services.
- Assisting with landscape design, cost estimates, and asset management planning.
- Preparing contract documentation, managing contractors, and monitoring project budgets and timelines.
- Responding to community inquiries and providing technical advice on horticultural practices.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace safety and organisational policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualifications in Horticulture, Project Management, or a related field, or extensive relevant experience.
- Proven experience in project management, including preparing and delivering capital works in the public realm.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and the community.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and interpreting relevant legislation and policies.
