About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced project officer to join our Digital Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. Blacktown City Council is growing rapidly, and the use of technology is critical to our success. This role will be responsible for undertaking project support activities with stakeholders from all sections of the Council.

You will provide support for the successful delivery of projects through all stages of the project lifecycle. Duties of the role includes, enhancement to existing systems such as TechnologyOne, as well as the implementation of new systems including customer experience and a field worker management platform.

A successful candidate will use their project knowledge and stakeholder management experience to help us improve our employee experience with systems. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • In-depth experience in project delivery, governance and reporting
  • Experience in a Project Officer role in a similar organisation 
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Project Management certification
  • ITILv3 Foundation certification
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies. 

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
