The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operate, service and maintain a variety of plant and equipment in a safe and effective manner within the limits of the machine for a range of activities including but not limited to general earthworks, roadworks construction and maintenance, concrete and drainage works.
- Carry out work within the vicinity of underground and overhead services in accordance with utility providers duty of care.
- Use various attachments associated with the machinery including laser levelling equipment for trenching and drainage.
- Assist set out works, establish line and level from reference points fixed by others and carry out ongoing checks of the accuracy of the works being undertaken during a project.
- Provide coaching and support of team members in the correct use of plant and equipment, assisting in the internal verification of competency processes.
- Contribute to programming and delivery of routine works in collaboration with supervisor, utilise administration skills to complete any documentation required.
- Contribute to implementing innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising utilisation of resources.
- Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe work place for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works.
About You
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Asset Delivery and Projects Team. You are -
- Equipped with a safety-first focus and proactive with safety issues and initiatives
- Able to juggle competing priorities on a daily basis in a safe and compliant way
- Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- Certificate III Civil Construction or equivalent OR a minimum of three (3) nationally accredited competencies in plant
- Class HR Driver Licence
- Nationally accredited certificate or proven competency for Stabiliser Operation
- Nationally accredited certificate or proven competency for Spreader
- General Construction Induction (WHS White Card)
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans
- Nationally accredited certificate for Work Near Overhead Powerlines
- SafeWork approved High Risk Licence for DG – Dogging
About the Role
Full time: 76-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $62,764 to $72,176 pa + 11.5% super
