We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.
The role
The primary purpose of the Property Services Specialist is the effective management Of Council’s property assets with responsibility for the leasing, licensing, acquisition and disposal of property.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Support the Coordinator Property and Manager Governance and Property Services in managing Council’s real property assets to help achieve strategic and financial goals.
- Deliver efficient and effective management of Council's property portfolio and in doing so protect Council's interests
- Provide accurate and consistent advice on property matters
- Develop, implement and monitor strategies for the effective asset management of Council properties
- Coordinate day-to-day property management tasks
- Negotiate leases, licences, sale and other property related transactions
- Liaise with and coordinate Council staff, external advisors, contractors and consultants
- Work with the Coordinator Property in setting budgets and financial performance targets for the portfolio
- Maintain the Tenancy Schedule and Land Register

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Property Management or a related business field
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in negotiating property contracts/agreements
- Ability to think clearly, logically and analytically
- Ability to manage resources, staff and time
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Local Government Act
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective complaints handling skills and experience
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $111,988 (Grade I, Step1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
