About the Role
This is a permanent, full time position working at the Shoalhaven Water's South Nowra Water Depot. Reporting to the Coordinator - Pump Fitters, this position provides quality, timely and efficient Mechanical Fitting (Fitter Machinist) and Machining installation, maintenance and breakdown services. This includes:
- Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing pumps including submersible and dry well of waste, water and sewerage treatment plants and swimming pools
- Performing general jobbing work including operating lathes, mills and presses
- Welding of all ferrous and non-ferrous metals using specialised welding equipment
- Vibration analysis and condition monitoring of pumps, gearboxes and other Council assets

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Trade certificate plus post trade qualifications in a related field or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar environment, inclusive of apprenticeship experience
- LR truck licence
- General Construction Induction card (White card)
- Currently hold or willing obtain the following:
- C2 licence to operate a truck mounted crane
- Confined spaces certificate and ability to work in confined spaces
- Working at heights
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
We are looking for someone with a sound knowledge of mechanical principles, codes and standards, with an ability to problem solve and effective time management skills.
